Support lung research with donations: With your donation you help to develop new and promising research approaches for the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of lung diseases. Every donation helps! Thanks for your support.

You can be assured that your donation goes directly toward lung research. There are many ways to support our work: contribute to lung research in general or choose to fund specific research projects. With an unrestricted donation, you enable us to allocate funds where they are most urgently needed. If you would like to support a particular project, simply include one of the Disease Areas as a reference in the payment subject line.
100 percent of all donations are used to support science and research.
The death of a loved person is a heavy burden. We are therefore very grateful if you think of supporting research in these difficult moments and call for donations for the German Center for Lung Research.
For the obituary notice we recommend the following wording:
"In accordance with the wishes of the deceased we ask you to make a donation to the German Center for Lung Research, Volksbank Mittelhessen, IBAN: DE 93 5139 0000 0012 7821 28, BIC: VBMHDE5F, key word: first and last name of the deceased."
When you call for donations, please ensure that you communicate a keyword for the donation transfers so that we can register the donations received. We would be pleased if you could inform us about your call for donations by sending us a copy of the obituary notice for example.
Approximately six weeks after the event we can provide you with the total amount of donations, if you wish. Please note, that for data protection reasons we are not allowed to send you the names of the donors or individual donation amounts.
The German Center for Lung Research is recognized as a non-profit organization and donations can be made tax deductable. Read the section below to learn how you can claim your donations for tax purposes.
If you have supported the German Center for Lung Research (DZL) with a donation of up to EUR 300 in a given year, no separate donation receipt is required for tax purposes in Germany.
To claim your donation, it is sufficient to submit the simplified proof of donation along with either the deposit slip, the booking confirmation from your bank (e.g. account statement), or a printout of the electronic confirmation from your online banking system. The payment reference should clearly include the word “donation.”
For contributions exceeding EUR 300, a formal confirmation of contribution issued by the German Center for Lung Research (DZL) in accordance with the official German tax guidelines is required. We will automatically issue and send this document to you. Please include your full postal address in the payment reference or contact us after making your donation.
Please note: The above information applies to taxpayers in Germany. Regulations on tax deductibility of donations may vary in other countries. Please consult your local tax authority or advisor for guidance.
